Prerequisites¶
Before implementing the intelligent data quality monitoring, ensure you have:
Valid Licensing: Active Alation Data Quality license.
Data Sources: Configured data sources with appropriate connectors and service accounts.
Database Permissions: Users require SELECT privileges on tables and datasets they want to monitor.
Note
These permissions must be granted directly within the underlying database or data warehouse and not within Alation. Users may need to work with a database administrator (DBA) or data owner to update permissions and enable monitoring access. If a user does not have the appropriate data source permissions, the monitor will fail to execute and return an error message indicating which object(s) were inaccessible and why.
Platform Requirements: Active Alation Cloud Service instance.
Query Log Ingestion: Confirm QLI has been configured properly for your data sources.
Network Access: Outbound connectivity to AWS services (if using AI recommendations)
