Alation to Sponsor Snowflake’s 2022 Data Cloud World Tour

Numerous joint customers to speak at seven tour events

Redwood City, Calif. – October 18, 2022 –  Today, Alation Inc., the data intelligence company, announced it is a sponsor of 11 of the 19 stops on Snowflake’s Data Cloud World Tour, including Auckland, New York, Sydney, Austin, Chicago, Dubai, London, Melbourne, San Francisco, Stockholm, and Toronto. The Data Cloud World Tour is:

  • Making 19 stops around the globe where organizations can learn about the latest innovations to Snowflake’s Data Cloud

  • All about exploring how organizations can use and collaborate with data in ways unimaginable just a few years ago

  • An opportunity to discover, learn, and experience how Snowflake’s Data Cloud can take organizations and careers to new frontiers

Since the partnership between Alation and Snowflake, the Data Cloud company, began in November 2020, it has enabled more than 130 joint customers to deliver value in their industries by accelerating migration to the Data Cloud and providing active data governance to drive self-service. Earlier this year, Alation launched a new offering in partnership with Snowflake, Alation Cloud Service for Snowflake, designed for departments and organizations of all sizes to start cataloging data on Snowflake’s platform. The partnership makes data governance easy and accessible, enabling organizations to start small, flexibly expand by adding data connectors, users, and data objects, and support use cases, like cloud data migration, for less than $100k.

Additionally, Alation was named Data Governance Partner of the Year by Snowflake for the second year in a row at this year’s Snowflake Summit. The award recognizes Alation for its integral role in the Snowflake partner ecosystem, the depth of its Snowflake expertise, and its commitment to driving customer impact in the Data Cloud ecosystem. Alation was also awarded five competency badges in the Snowflake Partner Network (SPN) Competency Program for its work with customers in the financial services, healthcare and life sciences, media and telecommunications, retail and CPG, and technology industries.

Alation also launched the Alation Data Governance App in September 2021, which enhances data governance capabilities for the Snowflake Data Cloud. Soon after, Alation joined the Data Governance Accelerated Program from Snowflake, a program for partners that built integrated governance solutions with Snowflake to support joint customers on their data governance journeys.

In the summer of 2021, Snowflake Ventures participated in Alation’s Series D funding round to expand the value proposition for Snowflake and Alation customers. The companies also joined forces to achieve assessment under the new Cloud Data Management Capabilities (CDMC) standard, sponsored by the EDM Council and verified by KPMG.
