Dr. Jarkko Moilanen

I’m Jarkko Moilanen, Head of Open Data Products for the Abu Dhabi Government. I’m on a mission to transform how organizations turn raw data into high-value, AI-ready products that create measurable business and societal impact. I started my career in software and API economy, then led major data platform transformations in Europe and the Middle East. Over the years, I saw the same pattern — organizations had the data, but without clear product thinking, governance, and monetization strategies, they couldn’t unlock its full value. That’s what drove me to create the Open Data Product Specification, now a Linux Foundation standard used worldwide. Today, I help governments and enterprises design, govern, and monetize data products so they scale efficiently, comply with regulations, and stay ahead in the AI-driven economy.
