With the RevAlation London event and the opening of a new London office, Alation cements its commitment to furthering enterprise adoption of data catalogues in Europe

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — November 8, 2018 Alation Inc., the data catalogue company, today announced the launch of RevAlation London, Europe’s first user community conference focused on enterprise data catalogue initiatives. The timing of the event coincides with the opening of Alation’s new European headquarters in London.

“From spurring greater collaboration around data to staying ahead of rapidly changing data regulations, data catalogues are emerging as key enablers of modern analytics in Europe. With RevAlation London and the opening of our London office, we are committing to meeting the needs of our customers and building a community that is equipped to drive business outcomes for self-service analytics initiatives in the U.K. and across Europe.”

– Satyen Sangani, CEO, Alation

Alation has seen strong growth in the U.K. and Germany with customers including Daimler, HelloFresh, Munich Re, Roche, and Scout24. Demand continues to grow for data catalogues as an enabler for self-service analytics, a means for increasing analyst productivity, and a way to build the foundation for more agile data governance. The London office will serve to help Alation meet the growing demand across Europe.

“We are delighted to welcome such an innovative, forward-thinking company as Alation to London. As the tech capital of Europe, the city is home to some of the best and most creative minds from across the world,” said Laura Citron, CEO of London & Partners. “Global tech companies continue to invest in London because of our city’s diverse international workforce, and our start-up ecosystem is vibrant and innovative. We look forward to helping more U.S. businesses expand and flourish in the U.K.’s capital.”

“I’m delighted that British companies are set to benefit from the opening of Alation’s new European headquarters in London, whose unique data catalogue services will help UK businesses better meet the needs of their customers. London’s ICT market – worth £36 billion – is Europe’s largest, while total venture capital investment in UK tech companies since 2016 has surpassed £5 billion. Alation chose London because of its unique ecosystem of talent, tech expertise and a global source of finance,” said Graham Stuart, Minister for Investment for the Department for International Trade. “The Department for International Trade is building on our position as the number one destination for FDI in Europe to draw in investment from the USA and across the world.”
