Configure Connection to Amazon SageMaker Catalog Source¶
Alation Cloud Service Applies to Alation Cloud Service instances of Alation
Enhanced Connector Enhanced connectors add extended capabilities and require a separate entitlement in addition to your Alation platform license.
After installing the Amazon SageMaker Catalog connector, you configure the connection to the SageMaker Catalog source.
Follow these steps to configure the SageMaker Catalog source connection:
Configure Authentication¶
On the SageMaker Catalog source Settings page, navigate to the General Settings tab.
In Step 1: Configure Authentication, specify the AWS region to be used for connecting to SageMaker in the Region field. The default value is us-east-1.
Choose the authentication method to connect to SageMaker Catalog:
Basic Authentication: Use this method to authenticate using an AWS Access Key ID and Access Key Secret. Ensure that the Prerequisites for Basic Authentication are met before you configure.
AWS IAM Role: Use this method to authenticate using an AWS IAM role. Ensure that the Prerequisites for AWS IAM Role Authentication are met before you configure.
Specify the following details and click Save.

AWS Access Key ID
Specify AWS Access Key ID generated in Requirements for Basic Authentication.
AWS Access Key Secret
Specify the AWS Access Key Secret generated in Requirements for Basic Authentication.

Authentication Profile
Select the authentication profile you created in Requirements for AWS IAM Role Authentication.
Alation Role ARN
The field displays the ARN of the Alation role associated with the authentication profile.
Role ARN
Specify the ARN of the role that gives access to the Amazon resource.
External ID
Provide the External ID you added to the role that gives access to the Amazon resource.
STS Duration (Optional)
Provide the STS token duration in seconds. This value must be less than or equal to the Maximum session duration set for the role.
Test the Connection¶
To validate network connectivity, go to General Settings > Test Connection of the Settings page of your SageMaker Catalog source and click Test.
A dialog box appears confirming the status of the connection test.
Configure Logging¶
To set the logging level for your SageMaker Catalog source logs, perform these steps:
On the Settings page of your SageMaker Catalog source, go to General Settings > Connector logs.
Select a logging level for the connector logs and click Save.
The available log levels are based on the Log4j framework.
