Alation Cloud Service Applies to Alation Cloud Service instances of Alation

The dbt Gen2 OCF connector is a standalone connector and is not related to to the add-on connector for dbt. To know more about the differences between the dbt Gen2 OCF connector and the add-on connector for dbt, see Add-on Connector Vs. dbt Gen2 OCF Connector.

If you have configured an add-on connector for dbt for dbt Cloud or Core, we recommend disabling it and installing the dbt Gen2 OCF connector.

  1. Install and configure the dbt Gen2 OCF connector. For details, Set Up OCF Connector for dbt.

  2. Configure the connection to the data source. For details, see Configure Connection to Data Source.

  3. Select the projects for extraction. For details, see Select Projects for Extraction.

  4. Run Metadata Extraction.

Disable Add-on Connector for dbt

To disable the add-on connector for dbt from all the data sources where dbt Cloud or Core is configured, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the Admin Settings > Connectors Dashboard and search for DBT add-on connector to view all the data sources where it is configured.

  2. Navigate to General settings > DBT and turn off the Configure the DBT OCF Connector toggle from each data source.
