Configure Connection to ELT Source

Alation Cloud Service Applies to Alation Cloud Service instances of Alation

Enhanced Connector Enhanced connectors add extended capabilities and require a separate entitlement in addition to your Alation platform license.

After installing the Matillion connector, you configure the connection to the Matillion ELT source.

Configure Authentication

  1. On the Matillion ELT source Settings page, navigate to the General Settings tab.

  2. Specify the following details for authentication:

    Description

    Matillion Base URL

    Specify the Server URL of the Matillion instance. Example: https://us1.api.matillion.com

    Client ID

    Specify the client ID generated from your Matillion service account. See API key and secret for instructions on creating API credentials in Matillion.

    Client Secret

    Specify the client secret generated from Matillion.

Test the Connection

To validate network connectivity, go to General Settings > Test Connection of the Settings page of your Matillion ELT source and click Test.

A dialog box appears confirming the status of the connection test. Test connection will check connectivity to the following endpoints:

  • Token endpoint - https://id.core.matillion.com/oauth/dpc/token

Lineage endpoint - <server>/dpc/v1/lineage/events

Configure Logging

To set the logging level for your Matillion ELT source logs, perform these steps:

  1. On the Settings page of your Matillion ELT source, go to General Settings > Connector logs.

  2. Select a logging level for the connector logs and click Save.

    The available log levels are based on the Log4j framework.
