Prerequisites¶
Alation Cloud Service Applies to Alation Cloud Service instances of Alation
Enhanced Connector Enhanced connectors add extended capabilities and require a separate entitlement in addition to your Alation platform license.
Before you configure the Matillion connector in Alation, ensure that you complete the prerequisites.
Prerequisites in Alation¶
Ensure that you’re using the Alation version 2025.3.2 or later.
Install the Matillion connector. For more information, see Install the Connector.
Confirm that Alation has connected data sources for both the Matillion source and target.
Ensure that additional data source connections are filled in for all the data sources where lineage is expected when the hostname and port are not matched between Alation and Matillion. For more information, see Step 1: Configure Lineage Across Data Sources.
Note
This step is optional when the following condition is true:
The
<hostname>:<port>in the JDBC URI of the Alation data source matches with<hostname>:<port>mentioned in Matillion sources and destinations.
Prerequisites in Matillion¶
Copy the Base URL of your Matillion instance and save it on your local machine.
Create a service account for Alation with the account administrator role. No other permissions are required.
Generate an API key and secret for the service account user created for Alation in Matillion and save them for future use.
