Improved Metadata Extraction The QlikSense OCF connector now extracts detailed metadata for streams, apps, sheets, sheet objects, tables,table columns, datasets (QVDs/Excel/RDBMS), dataset columns, and master items using a redesigned object-mapping model.
Improved Lineage Extraction The connector now provides a complete in-Qlik lineage by integrating with both the Qlik Engine APIs and the Qlik Cloud Lineage APIs (this requires additional settings, refer to QlikSense OCF Connector for more information). All lineage within the Qlik ecosystem is now derived using the updated Qlik Cloud lineage graph and Engine APIs, ensuring accurate mapping between Qlik tables, datasets, and sheet-level objects. Databricks Unity Catalog OCF Connector: Version 3.4.4¶

The connector will now extract the source timestamp and display it along with Alation timestamp (timestamps when the objects were created or updated) in the catalog page and source timestamps. You can now control the extraction of file-level metadata for a bucket.
Go to the Select buckets for extraction section under the Metadata Extraction tab and select the checkbox under the Extract Files column in the Buckets table.
When the Extract Files checkbox is selected, Alation extracts files and folders at each bucket level. The extracted files are displayed on the file catalog page.
When the Extract Files checkbox is not selected, only folders are extracted; files won’t appear on the file catalog page. (AL-200536)

Support for Extraction of Production-Only Environment for Lineage Generation in dbt Cloud¶
The connector now provides an option that allows admins to restrict lineage extraction to only tagged production environments. This eliminates cluttered lineage when multiple environments interact with the same table, resulting in duplicate Data Flow Objects.
To limit the extraction scope to production-only environments, turn on the Fetch only production tagged environments toggle in the Customize lineage extraction scope section under the Lineage Configuration tab. (AL-202876)

Issue Generating Lineage When SQL Server Host Includes Comma¶

Support for Proxy Certificate¶
The connector now provides an option to include a proxy certificate in the truststore for a secure and successful connection and authentication. This prevents test connection and API call failures due to untrusted certificates (not added to the truststore).
To upload a proxy certificate, go to the Proxy configuration section of the General Settings tab of your BI source Settings page and click Proxy server certificate. (AL-200059)

Support for dbt Core¶
The dbt Gen2 OCF connector now supports dbt Core. The connector extracts projects, models, model columns, and job runs (jobs executed for a given model in an instance) from dbt Core.
The connector supports the following authentication methods:

Support for QLI Filtration¶
The connector now supports filtering of QLI extractions based on the projects selected during selective extraction.
To enable this feature, turn on the Extract query logs only for projects selected in Metadata extraction tab toggle in the Additional Settings section of the Query Log Ingestion tab to filter query logs based on the same filters selected in Metadata Extraction. If this toggle is turned off (default), the connector will ingest the query logs from all the projects for which the service account has permissions. (AL-182968, AL-181040)

MDE and lineage extraction fail intermittently, as the DBT Cloud Admin/Discovery API returns an HTTP 502 error. This is a known issue in DBT Cloud.
However, Alation tries to handle this issue by retrying to call the API again when the connector encounters this issue. The max retry limit is five. (AL-184305)

Support for Cataloging All Nodes¶
The connector now supports cataloging of all nodes present in Talend jobs providing visibility into end-to-end lineage. Nodes not part of the current Talend scope are cataloged as tables with no column information. The nodes contain the following description:

Column-level information won’t be available for nodes outside the scope of the Talend connector. Hence, end-to-end column-level lineage isn’t supported.

The following enhancements are added to the connector (AL-173242)
Support for uploading parameter files - If you use parameters to define connection strings, schema, and table names in your workflows, you must download the parameter files (.prm), zip them, and upload to the datasource configuration. This is optional.
MDE and lineage queries are now optimized for faster execution.
For table renames, the connector now captures the changed name to enable cross-system table lineage.

Connector Skips Tables With Same Name In Different Sources¶
Connector skips one of the tables when there are multiple tables with the same name in different sources.
This issue is now resolved. The metadata extraction logic now creates a unique table name by adding a prefix (tableID) to every table name in the mapping. Thus, no tables with the same name present in different sources are skipped during MDE. (AL-173242)
Important
All the previously extracted tables will now be renamed, deleting previously curated data derived from the earlier tables and replacing it with newly created ones.

Support for MDE Without Broker Connection¶
The connector now supports a new connection property that allows it to only connect to the schema registry for extracting the topics. Earlier, broker authentication details were mandatory.
To enable the schema-registry only connection, set the following properties:

Setting these values allows you to skip broker authentication details in the connector configuration. (AL-179339)
